Car Accessories
Please Note: Originally we stated that this unit included a wired (as opposed to wireless) FM modulator. Unfortunately this information was incorrect as the wired modulator is an optional extra with Harmon/Kardon. A wireless modulator comes as standard. If you have bought one of these units and find it unsuitable for your use then remember our 30-day no-quibble warranty applies for all orders. Click here for more information. The Drive+Play from Harmon Kardon puts the familiar iPod menu on a backlit display right on your car's dashboard or windshield, where you can read it at a glance. Controlled by an intuitive interface that mimics the navigation on your iPod, and is just as easy to use - browse by artist, album, song, genre or composer. Mount the Drive+Play in a convenient place on your car's dashboard and you can scroll through playlists or switch tracks at your leisure, all while keeping your eyes on the road. Simple controlsThe control knob is virtually identical to iPod's Click Wheel so it is immediately familiar to iPod users. With three mounting bases for the most comfortable placement, the Drive+Play will be your right-hand man. Nerve centerThe brain is the hidden central hub of the Drive+Play. You can connect your iPod and place them both out of sight under a seat, in the glovebox or in the centre console, with no messy wires and no chance for damage to your iPod. It even charges your iPod when it's plugged in. Multiple mounting optionsYou can connect Drive + Play in one of two ways. The design of the components and the interface, despite the flaws, make for a top-quality piece of work. It really is the best way to use an iPod in the car that I have been able to find..... What is a refurbished item?In general terms, refurbished could also be referred to as remarketed, equivalent to new, or remanufactured. The name 'refurbished' is something of a misnomer. An item being classed as 'refurbished' does not mean it's second hand or used. Typically they are products that have been returned to the manufacturer by customers, for any number of reasons (see below), and then tested at the factory to make sure they're in tip-top shape. Defective or damaged parts will be replaced. Apple, Netgear, D-Link, HP, Gateway, in fact, all of the top manufacturers refurbish items and then resell them at much cheaper prices! Refurbished products can originate from a variety of sources, including: Customer returns and cancelled orders - Fully-functional products that leave the manufacturers warehouse and therefore can no longer be sold as new. Items where the box or casing was damaged in shipment which are returned to the manufacturer. The item was returned to the manufacturer because of a slight defect. The part that was defective was replaced by the manufacturer, tested and then repackaged just like new. Demonstration and trial equipment - Products have been provided to customers for demonstration purposes. Factory or reseller overstocks - Items that are returned by the seller to make room for newer product lines. Factory loaner equipment - Products that have been used for purposes such as trade shows, customer events, or solution centers and have been returned to the manufactuer. Trade-in programs - Products customers have returned to the manufacturer in order to upgrade to new technology. It is impossible to know the history of each item, but for whatever reason the unit gets labeled as 'factory refurbished' it is inspected and serviced by the manufacturer then tested and repackaged to meet original product specifications. Why should I buy refurbished equipment? In short - refurbs save cash! Why hesitate getting the best value by getting the exact same equipment, with original manufacturers warranty at a much lower price? If you couldn't previously afford that expensive item you really want, NOW you can with a factory refurb! - You still get the same performance and warranty- Refurbished items have a much lower defect rate- Out of 10 units that come back for repair, typically only one is 'factory refurbished', because refurb units are tested before they are sold The bottom line is, all the benefits of buying a refurbished product are the same as a new one, even the warranty! So, think again, are you shopping smart?
