History: bluenose ii - was built in nova scotia in 1921 and launched in 1964... our model is build from cherry wood and yellow wood. the hull length is 80 cm long. Dimensions (cm): 80l 98h 22w. all models are handmade from the beginning by skillful craftsmen. they are built according to scale of the original ships through original plans or pictures using the plank on frame construction method. the hull is joined by multi-pieces of dry thin wood glued together. We only use the highest quality woods like rosewood, ebony, blackwood, mahogany and teak; detailed as follows: ebony for buttons and small details. english sycamore, rosewood or blackwood for the hull. mahogany for the masts. cherrywood on the deck. talauma or jackwood on the deck or water line. canons, muskets, anchors and other tiny details are made of metal (for decoration). sails and rigging lines are made of linen.
